Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global break, however will the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son told me to select Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's home record, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
