The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into allegations of questionable actions directed at women.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
