The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry instalment that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is known for celebrating violence and insanity with the same glee, all while presenting captivating, socially charged stories. Little surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two creators whose creations have represented all of those things.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game series, the self-contained anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' style by introducing a fresh backdrop and ensemble in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared magnificent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game worlds ever created. And along the way, my FX team constantly supports me with their constant trust and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology show. Every title is a variation of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can change from year to year, while always examining the core of society through this complex and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, ambitious style to the television.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
