Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the passing of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans offered its support for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
